Fall News

It was a beautiful day in Tulsa as the Utica Art on the Square Show ran from 10 - 5.  Crowds were out and looking, enjoying the art.  I had a new spot for setup that I love and sold works entitled Clouds Over the Cimarron, Thin Girl, Day Lilies, and Peach Sky.

Thank you to all who stopped to visit.  My favorite comment received was "You're not like everyone else".  I think it is good to be different!

A big thank you to Anne Weil who gave of her time to help me set up and take down.  I couldn't have done it without you.

Day Lilies

This is an 8 x 8 oil on canvas.  Petite and plenty of color!  Sold!

Work in Progress

I am coaching a client as she paints a large abstract for her daughter's college room.    It is a fun project!

New Gallery

These four works are showing at the beautiful Silver Leaf Gems Gallery in Edmond, OK.  Their designer jewelry is stunning and they are  introducing the public to their new gallery space.  Each room is unique and features their work and that of several hand selected artists.

You are invited -- their website is www.silverleafgems.com.

"King of the Fancy" by P. Winters

Celebrating a good friend's birthday included making a little watercolor sketch of a sculpture she created.  That was fun!

Blue Ribbon Day

On June 4, 2011, I was excited to bring home a first place ribbon in professional oil painting from the Route 66 Art Show and Sale sponsored by Sapulpa Arts.  This Oklahoma show brings attention to the history and beauty of our state.  The painting is titled "Parrot Tulip" and is 8" x 10".

Gardening

It is hot in Oklahoma, so I try to go outside early in the day.  Some of our current blossoms are showing such lovely colors.

Trip to Florida

Ken had a scientific meeting in Ft. Lauderdale, and we took time to drive down to Miami and see where we used to live, eat at our favorite restaurant, and walk along the beach.  Wonderful.

Kansas City Art

We traveled to see the senior thesis show of Yulie Urano, fiber artist who just graduated from the Kansas City Art Institute.  She also dates our son, Ben.  Her work is fabulous and exciting and she was awarded the Windgate Fellowship which allows her to study abroad this summer.  Congratulations, Yulie!
